Pre-pandemic--the tailor did an excellent job hemming and tailoring. However, I went in there this afternoon (3/25/2022) and was VERY disappointed that the tailor did a horrible job adding one stitch to a down jacket. I thought I could trust him based on previous hemming & tailoring work. Instead he cross stitched them using gray tech thread which was VERY VISIBLE and amateurish.

And applied a fixative on it--making it worst. He asked me if I was going to get it cleaned there. I said no because it's machine washable. Maybe, he would have done a better job if I said yes. I already dropped off some sweaters to be dry cleaned. $6 per stitch is expensive for poor work. I'll have to take out the stitch and see if I can do a better job.

I tried and the glue seems impossible to remove. (4/3/22) However, I will add that they have always done an excellent job dry cleaning my sweaters, cardigans, dresses, and other fine garments that require extra care. They do it fast--press and hang them neatly. So, I will return and get more sweaters dry cleaned when the winter season is over.

I took in an Italian long wool women's coat with a belt to be dry cleaned. They lost the belt. I had purchased the coat in Europe so it is impossible to replace the belt. I went twice back to see if they had found the belt as I was instructed that they will be looking to find it. I finally called the owner. He told that he was 99% that I had received the belt with the bag. What a joke and a disappointed for a Wilmette business. Hope doesn't happen to anyone else.

I've found the right cleaners after trying several in the area. Kenney the cleaner on Dempster is a great location, they take care of your clothes, they have a fantastic seamstress or Taylor and it's always a pleasant experience when you go in there. I would highly recommend checking out this business.

Especially Tariq. His alterations have been great. The rest of the associates have been great to work with as well.

People here are so friendly and accommodating. Easy breezy drop off and pick up. Garments are cleaned to perfection and alterations are perfect. One of my places of necessity. I appreciate their service and reasonable prices. Service: Alterations

Lies! Lies! Lies! They NEVER even bothered to respond to my BBB complaint. There were still a couple dark spots on a couple covers as well as variation of color from one cover to another. My covers have a tinge of yellow, I'm guessing due to whatever cleaning product was used. I've had to pay to replace the covers and trying to see if the ones they messed up are at all salvageable by another service provider.

The only thing Kenny the Kleener has responded to is these reviews. As soon as I'm less busy at work, I will absolutely be reporting Kenny the Kleener to every entity that matters per the BBB advice.

They do an excellent job cleaning my clothes. Even though this location is alittle further from my home the place is very clean and the staff is extremely polite. Service: Alterations

Service is top-notch; the people here are warm and generous. One time the lady repaired a torn pocket lining gratis while I waited. I don't dry clean that often, but have been here three times in the last year just for repairs. The first time I got a little sticker shock, but the craftsmanship was excellent and I learned to ask about cost up front.

Each time I've felt that the price was fair, and now I know that they do reliably solid work. My clothes are ready on time and they look great and smell good too! PLUS, they are really inexpensive compared to most other dry cleaners and their counter people are always super friendly! Great job Kenny!

I will never use this service again! almost 300 bucks down the drain. If I take my clothes in to get cleaned I want them just that. CLEANED. I opened the bag and MOST OF THEM SMELL LIKE GARBAGE. Once again, 300 dollar down the tube, all the money I paid and it's like they didn't bother cleaning the clothes, I also believe they over charged me. I didn't give them that much to work with and my total was almost 300 dollars. I will tell everyone to steer clear! Sadly I had to learn the hard way.

Pro: Long hours. Same-day service available. Open seven days. Tailor available. Con: Pay when you drop off clothes. Summary: This is an excellent cleaner!

Due to Covid-19, I had to order my wedding dress online. Even though the wedding will be at the Courthouse with parents only, I still wanted to look my best. The dress arrived much later than expected and I needed last minute alterations. After going to three tailors and being told there was no way they could help me, I walked into Kenny The Kleener's feeling very discouraged.

I was immediately greeted, and the Tailor walked up to me and said to put on the dress. I explained that any help would be appreciated, even if it was just enough stitching to pull my dress up to cover my bra strap. He said he could do it. I could have cried. I wasn't expecting much since I was asking for something so last minute. When I picked up the dress, not only did it look more beautiful than when I brought it in (it came smashed in a box) but the magic the tailor performed to correct the fit was incredible.

I am a new resident of Evanston and don't plan on leaving for a very long time. They have earned my respect and business for many years to come. More importantly, the tailor has made it possible to look my very best on my wedding day.

Do not use! Do not use! Kenny the kleeners staff stealing clothes! Also why don't they actually use soap in the washer is beyond me.

I've been using Kenny the Kleener for years and it's great. The pickup and delivery service is top notch and the delivery driver/coordinator, Robert, is extremely responsive to anything you need and I've never had a problem. The quality is the same or better than places twice the price, so take your business here instead!

After dealing with Kenny, the owner, I was left walking away from the absolute worst customer service experience of my life. Kenny was extremely dismissive towards my situation and persistently rude to me. His dry cleaning service damaged my winter coat far beyond repair and took absolutely no accountability. They instead persisted that I take it up with the department store I purchased it from.

For a business that has been around for so long, I'd expect a much higher level of accountability and better course of action in response. I discourage every and any person from taking a chance with this cleaning service. With the possibility that they can damage your garments, I would never wish the disrespect and poor treatment on any customer.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. By far the most unprofessional, terrible, incompetent customer service I have ever dealt with in my entire life. As a new customer, I trusted their service with a very special item of mine that is only to be dry cleaned. They damaged my brand new winter coat beyond repair. They demonstrated such poor quality and lack of care for both business and service.

The employees here lack knowledge over fabrics and how to properly care for them. DO NOT TRUST THIS SERVICE TO CLEAN ANYTHING. The owner claims to be an expert but is far from knowledgeable or compassionate. When presenting the damages to him, he was extremely rude and dismissive and said he had other "more" important things to care for. He does not care for the quality of customer service but instead is greedy, entitled, and disrespectful beyond words. Would never again support any of his 4 dry cleaning businesses. Save yourself time, money, and garments.

My family and I were Kenny the Kleener customers ever since we moved to Skokie for almost 15 years now. Although I never liked they were on the Far East side of Skokie I Still went as a loyal customer. However, over the years the customer service has severely declined. The cashiers are rude and although they've seen me for years on a weekly basis they questioned me on the one time I did not have my coupon and did not apply the sale.

I understand that if one does not have a coupon that sometimes it can't be honored. However it was how it was handled. I told the cashier that day they lost a customer and I got "k" in response. I will never return to this establishment again due to its poor customer service.

I brought 15 shirts in to be cleaned and pressed. Half of the shirts were still wrinkled and placed on the hangers very sloppy. This is the second time this has happened (I understand if there is a mistake once). I brought them back and the representative simply said that they would fix this and if I wanted to discuss the owner would be there the next day.

She would not refund the poor work and did not offer any kind of apology. The owner was not available the next day. The staff is not friendly and offers poor service. I usually don't comment on Yelp, but the experience was so poor that I felt the need to warn people. My guess is that they don't really care as there seems to be a lot of complaints on Yelp. I wish that I read the reviews before giving them my business.

I've been bringing my laundry, dry cleaning and tailoring needs to Kenny The Kleener for years now. The service is always impeccable and the staff super friendly. I've had four suits tailored as well all completed on time with care and attention to fit me just right. I highly recommend Kenny The Kleener to everyone. They also have same day service which is super convenient!

On the plus side, if you qualify for one of their deals (5 executive shirts at one time, etc) or have a coupon the pricing is very competitive. Note that their list pricing can be expensive. Their cleaning was not the best, but adequate. I used their tailor services a couple of times, adequate results but there are better tailors out there. I went to them for my dry cleaning for a few years.

In general their service was OK. Then I had a very bad experience. I had a problem where I got back a dress shirt and the back was shredded. It looked like it ran over some type of sharp roller. Their handling of the problem was terrible. First, they claimed the shirt was given to them that way -- no way. Then they offered to refund me the $2.50 cleaning charge (this is like bringing in your car for an oil change, they total the car, and they just want to refund you the $19.95?).

The only other thing they offered was for me to talk to Kenny. He "wasn't in". I kept trying to call back for about a month, but eventually it was clear he was never going to be available. The shirt was bad enough, I was probably out $80, but what if this was an expensive suit? So they are OK if you want basic low cost cleaning and your clothes are not expensive. For any fine clothes, stay away!

Excellent workmanship, quality and timeline. Delighted and surprised when they even asked if I needed help outside when I picked up. The day I dropped off I saw an employee carrying things to the car for another customer, but did not realize they routinely offer it when you pickup. I can still carry things myself, but a decade from now I may well appreciate the help.

Have been coming here for several years, despite the rising prices, as its close to my home. Prices now for hemming are 6.50 a pant leg! last year, I dropped off a pair of pants to be hemmed and received them with hemming on one side only. I was offered an apology, but nothing else for my time and trouble to come back twice. Today I went in as one side of pants that were hemmed within a year fell.

I was told she could not find the old ticket and she offered to fix the hemming for 5.00! Should your tailor's work not last the life of the pant? Or at least under a year? Good bye Kenny The Kleener

They do a great job and I've never had a problem here, but for all the people who say they are inexpensive (or even cheap), I have news for you. The current rate for dry cleaning is $4.19 per piece here and my other cleaners on Touhy is still at $2.29 per piece. If there was a difference in quality I could justify the price difference, but thus far, there has not been. I come to Kenny's when I have a coupon, but other than that, I'm into saving money.

Constantly emails me to rate them on yelp. Wont stop emailing me after i click unsubscribe and i replied to the email asking them to unsubscribe. Thats a violation of FCC federal law. So since kenny wont stop emailing me to review them, i will oblige and give them the one star they deserve for harassment and poor tech support. Warning to all: DO NOT GIVE THIS VENDOR YOUR EMAIL. THEY WILL NOT STOP SENDING YOU AN EMAIL TO RATE THEM ON YELP. Or do it, if that's the kind or email and attention you desire. I'm not you and don't pretend to know what you like.

Great service and tailoring! I took some clothes over for a next day cleaning and realized that I needed a suit back early for an event. I called and gave my ticket number and they were able to make sure I had everything back early! Service with a smile!

This place rocks! My son tore his jacket! I was in desperate need of getting it fixed fast! But it happened on Sunday! Thanks to Yelp I found this place! I called ahead and was told that the tailor could fix it! I drove over there and within 10 minutes I was out the door. Charges were 15 and boy was it worth it! Thank you so much for saving the day!

Great dry cleaning that is impeccable, I always choose Kenny the Kleener. They have every service you could ever need. In addition to their dry cleaning they can also handle items such as suede's, leathers, and fur. Don't waste your time with inferior cleaners, bring your items to a business that will get it done right and on time. The owner is often there which makes you feel your clothes will be handled with extra care. They also have same day service 7 days a week which awesome.

They do a pretty good job at dry cleaning and have been using them for years. They are pretty inexpensive and really quick. I did have an issue a few weeks back with tailoring but I learned that I will only do my dry cleaning there. They are really nice and overall great place to do dry cleaning only. Will come back!
