Wood is the preferred material for decks. Not only is wood beautiful, it is also stable, durable, and easy to work with. Wood is susceptible, however, to water damage and should be checked regularly. Boards that are split, cracked, or have raised nails indicate a possible problem with moisture penetration.

If your deck, fence or gazebo has been coated with ADMTM 2000 it may be cleaned with a soft scrub deck brush and ADM SAFE-WASHTM both available by calling 888-272-WOOD. ADM SAFE-WASHTM is an effective cleaner that can be used to clean dirt, water stains, greasy food spills and tree sap off of most surfaces.
Standing water can lead to premature wood damage. Gaps between boards must be free from dirt, debris and twigs; allowing water to drain freely. Air needs to flow in, and around, your deck to prevent moisture buildup. If your deck is over 24 high, make sure air can enter from the sides. Gaps between the boards can be opened, and vents can be installed to solve moisture problems.

If possible I would give no star. In the Spring of 2014 we hired American Deck Maintenance to sand, stain, and seal two decks that were installed in the fall of 2013. The staining applied was done poorly as the deck looked spotted with areas of lighter and dark stain of all sizes. After many attempts, American Deck Maintenance came out in the Fall of 2014 and said they would redo it at no charge in the Spring.
Spring of 2015 rolled around I could not get hold of them, or when I did, they told me they would be out and they never did. There was always one excuse or another. Spring turned to Summer and Summer to Fall and still my deck looked awful. So here we are in the Spring of 2016 with a renewed commitment for them to be out this morning, weather permitting, and of course no one is here, no one has called, and no one was there when I called them. Shame on me for even believing them again. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE! They are dishonest and they do not live up to there commitments.
