Our founder, Haroutun (Harry) Hagopian was born in 1895 in Bursa, Turkey during a very difficult period in history. The minority Armenian population in Turkey (at the time known as the Ottoman Empire) was pushing for equal rights and coming under attack. The Ottoman Empire, already crumbling, started what would become the first genocide of the 20th century killing 1.5 million Armenians.

Hagopian has cleaned my area rugs for nearly 30 years. Obviously, I have been a satisfied customer. Last cleaning I thought the charges for my 4 kitchen runners seemed a little higher than usual. Made the payment and then received a copy of the charges. There were 4 separate charges of $15 for "disinfecting". No heads up; no notice of a change. I'm re-evaluating my relationship with Hagopians.

We called to see if our rug was ready. We were told it would be at the store the following day but it was not. When we went in the next day we were told they would call us when it came in it must have missed the truck. They sent a text to our home phone which we don't have texting on. I had to call them again to check on our rug. Next time I'll just go somewhere that wants business.

I just picked up my rug from the Ann Arbor location and want to call out the excellent customer service I got from Mohammed. He was consistently courteous, professional, and promptly communicated with me on my questions. He demonstrated to me that this company is committed to long-term relationships. I highly recommend them.

I just picked up my carpet today and I am thrilled with the results. I had ruined a Persian carpet by putting a plant on it that leaked through and left me with a moldy carpet and a huge hole. I really didn't think there was any hope, but after they sent the carpet for an extended stay in Egypt, they repaired it to perfection. I found the entire process very professional and I highly recommend Hagopian, in particular Mohamed Elshetany gave excellent service and advice.

It's not the local store's problem but Hagopian can't seem to find my small rug that I dropped at the beginning of August, was due back by the end of August, and now-mid September-isn't back from the Oak Park cleaning office-which can't seem to find it. (Later today) They found it-it was mistagged. Then it was sent to the local store. It came back with a dirt mark on it which I can't tell if it was there and they couldn't get it out or other. But I won't use the service again.

I took a rather simple rug in to be cleaned. When I dropped it off I was told that it would need a disinfectant treatment and ScotchGuard treatment, which would have nearly doubled the $100 cost. I said that I would pass on those. Just before time to pick up the rug, I got a call saying that there were stains on the rug that would need to be treated for $95. Again, I told them that I could not afford the additional cost.
The total with the proposed extra costs, if I'd agreed to them, would have approached what the rug was worth. This company seems to have a policy of selling up. I found them to be very misleading in their description of costs.

I brought in a couple of rugs for cleaning and was "treated" to a version of customer service that I can honestly say I have never experienced before. The man in the store was rude, even downright contemptuous. His manner was disdaining from our initial greeting, but after I declined to have my rugs repaired as he recommended and only opted for cleaning them, he became openly hostile.
He apparently cares a great deal about rugs. too bad he doesn't care for the customers who bring them in. I happily took my business elsewhere and recommend to everyone that they do the same.

A few years ago, I brought a rug to Hagopian for cleaning. It had a black stain. I come back to pick it up, and they say the stain can't be removed. I'm bummed, but I somehow manage to endure. I look irritatedly at the stain for years. Today carpet cleaner comes to clean my whole house. He sees the stain. "Do you want me to get that out?" he says. He has the stain out in less than five minutes. He charges me $10. Hagopian charged me at least three times that to do nothing. Not a fan.

Truly poor service at this place. My first impression of the interior was disgust. The counter and keyboard to the register were absolutely filthy. I didn't even want to sign the credit card receipt. The guy at the front desk didn't seem interested in speaking more than two words to me. But I thought, hey, I'm getting the clean 1, get 1 free cleaning, so I guess it's worth it.
It took them over a month to call me to tell me that my rugs were ready for pick up. (I'll admit, the message that was left for me was very pleasant, but it sounded like it came from corporate and not from the Ann Arbor location). Because of their crappy hours, I went during work today to pick up the rugs. I went in to an empty store. I stood there for about 4 minutes, seeing no one--no note on the door, no bell to ring.
I went back out to my car to get my phone to call the store. Still no one picked up. I realized after about 10 minutes of waiting to see a human being that the guy was in the bathroom. He finally came out, didn't apologize for my wait, then rang me up at the dirty register again. I will say that he very nicely offered to take my rugs to my car.
Fast forward 3 hours later to when I get home from work, ready to unroll my rug only to realize that he gave me the wrong rug. So now it's back out to the dirty store during the crappy hours to hope they haven't given my real rug away to someone else. Save your time and go to a different location.
