My realtor provides names of contractors she's vetted. I've used over 10 of her recommendations and they've all been stellar - and I'm a VERY picky lady. Affordable Joe's Carpet Cleaning is no exception. Joe's been cleaning my carpets for 5 years. He's easy to work with, schedule an appointment, is prompt, works hard and is in and out w/o ado and efficiently.
He is always careful to remind me to put a towel down in the areas heading off the carpet onto vinyl/tile after the carpets have been cleaned to be sure I don't step onto the floor w/damp shoes and slip. Small businesses are the way to go! Thank you Joe for all your hard work over the years.

Warning: This guy is scary. I just had a terrible experience with him in a parking lot where he yelled at me when my door touched his van. When I smiled and shrugged an apology, he called me an asshole and got out of his van to slam the door into my car. He then took a photo of my license plate and said he was calling the police. When I leaned out my window saying I had not tried to hit his car with my door, he screamed that I was harassing him. Now, I'm a small 68 year old woman.and he was terrifying me.
I tried calling the # on his van when I got home to warn them that he might show up.thinking he could be a danger at his workplace, but I reached him and got further threats. Honestly, no one should have this guy in their home. His anger is trigger sensitive and he seems out of control about dealing with even the most minor situation.

I have used Affordable Joe's several time over the last few years. Giving him 5 stars because honestly I plan to keep using him. Out of all of the quotes I gathered originally, he for sure had the best prices. He walks through the house beforehand and gives you your final quote, and discusses any stains that could be an issue, and each time I have gotten exactly what I paid for at a reasonable price.
He has a good machine that gets the job done FAST -and the carpets look way better than what I can do with my home machine. Here are a few tips though. If you have any stains on the carpet, I STRONGLY recommend you take 10 minutes to go through the house and pre-treat them with the cleaner of your choice. I put a little bit of carpet cleaning solution and oxyclean in some water, and spray or spoon a generous amount of the solution on the stains RIGHT BEFORE Joe comes.
I have found that doing this gives me a better final result. When I haven't done this, I have had some faint traces of stains left -so don't assume that even a professional service will get every stain, the oxyclean I think is what does the trick. Also, I have stains from a kids toy "FLARP" that I still can't get out and neither can Joe.though they are fading a little with each cleaning.
But again, the carpet is nicely fluffed up and overall looks fantastic after a professional cleaning. One last thing -he only takes cash/checks, not credit cards (at least that was the case the last time he came). If you need to use a credit card ask if that payment policy has changed -it wasn't an issue but I was surprised when I realized I could not use a credit card at our last appointment.
Finally -I will admit that when we FIRST used him, he put little shiny discs under our furniture to protect the carpet after the cleaning. He did NOT do this on the last appointment or two. I don't know if it is an option to have this done, so ask him about it if you need/want that service. It is a nice touch that I miss -but again, if you are looking for a good budget friendly cleaner I still think he is a great choice and I will hire him again.

Joe saved us! I called him last minute after two carpet cleaning companies fell through. He was able to squeeze us for Monday morning after I called him on Saturday afternoon. I was worried about moving into our new condo with our two cats knowing the previous owners had cats. Our carpets turned out great and our cats are none the wiser. Not to mention, the price was definitely affordable. I highly recommend Joe.

Made an appointment with this guy a week ago. He calls me less than an hour before the appointment to tell me he can't make it. His excuse? Another customer called with an emergency, a pipe had busted and he was doing water clean up. Now when I made the reservation I told him I had to take time off of work, move my boat to a spot where he could access it, make an appointment with the property owner to use their dock and remover all the furniture so the carpets can be cleaned.
He calls me after all this work has been done to say he added 2 1/2 hours of emergency work and can't make it before the business that so generously offered the use of their dock closes and locks their gates. I told him that he has lost a customer and I will let others know how he treated me. I hung up and started looking to see if I could find someone else at the last minute.
At this time he calls me back and starts saying how hard his day has been, calls me an @sshole for not being flexible. YES, you read that right, he started name calling on the phone! How unprofessional. Please blacklist this guy and never do business with him.
