I only have them come once every three weeks. They came out and gave me an estimate before they charged me a fee. I have to be slightly flexible on scheduling because I'm not on a regular weekly schedule but that's fine by me. Looks like the old reviews were from old employees that no longer work there. Recently I used the Wilmette Maids for the first time. The team of four extremely nice and neat ladies did the fabulous job from the top to the bottom of my house. They made the beds the way no one has ever done before. The company even did not charge me extra time spent on cleaning inside of my refrigerator. I will use them regularly, it was a very pleasant experience.

I have had used Wilmette maids in the past and was not only pleased but recommended this company to MANY people. I do not know if they are under new management but I have had three cleanings with them. The first and the third were incomplete services. When I called to inquire the woman said that she will call the crew. She promptly called me back to give me excuses as to why the cleaning ladies ignored on full bedroom in my TINY home.
I was given no apologies, no offer to come back and clean the room, and no offer to partially refund. The woman who called me back (I am assuming is the owner) knew I was very upset and was incredibly indignant with me. I finally said, "OK fine if we cannot come to an agreement then cancel all of my future cleanings" she didnt care at all. So beware.
If your cleaning is incomplete they will NOT come back, they will only assume that the crew is honest and not the people paying for the service. I am so disappointed, as my experience two years ago was completely different. I would have allowed her to right their wrongs, but bo attempts were made at all.

I have used Wilmette Maids many times throughout the past five years, and recommended them to others. Typically four women come for one hour. They do a quick cleaning of everything, but their time is limited, so I let them know what is important to me that they get done. Usually the lead person is the only one who speaks good English, but that's not a problem. In general, I have found them to be reliable, cordial and trustworthy.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. A 3 person crew was hired for an hour before we moved in for a "light cleaning" as the woman I spoke with noted. I'm not sure what she considers a light cleaning because the place was filthy. It's a small home and I couldn't tell from any surfaces that a crew had been in the house. None of the sinks were clean, running water in tubs turned brown from dirt and debris, and my finger picked up dust on every single surface.
When I called to complain I was told that the crew performed a light clean and when I pressed as to what "light" meant she could not give me a straight answer. Save your money. This place is a disaster.

Not impressed. We had a coupon from Wilmette Maids for $40 first cleaning so we gave it a shot. They were on time and pleasant, but in the end, they just did a mediocre job in cleaning. There are glaring things they didn't do, such as sweeping under the couches, vacuuming the couches (obvious dog hair on all three - I've never had a cleaning service not vacuum chairs and couches), missing spots on the floor that needed a bit more scrubbing, not dusting around jewelry trees on top of dressers and not moving our dog crate to sweep the collection of dog hair that was in plain sight. In the end, it was about as good as the job I'd do in a rush - not worth it for the price. Unfortunate, but we won't be using them again.

Wilmette Maids has cleaned my home for several years. They have always done an excellent job. Yesterday was no exception. They left my home spotless. Their rates are fair and reasonable, and their cleaning crews are clean, courteous, and generally delightful people I really look foward to seeing each month. I also find the office staff pleasant, easy to work with, and always attentive to my needs. I am happy to continue using this service, to recommend them to colleagues and friends, and to write (an unsollicited!) positive review to encourage others to do the same.

I have used this company about 4 times. The first time I was very impressed, but each visit got less and less impressive. It seems like every time I have hired a cleaning company, they eventually get lazy and fail to do the job. I don't know how they stay in business. The last 2 times they were here, they left with the beds completely stripped and the job unfinished.
I told them this time specifically to change the downstairs bed and and that I had started the wash of the sheets for them. But the man on the phone didn't listen and instead, changed the wrong bed and left the pillows without pillow cases. Pretty inexcusable since my child caregiver was home and available to tell them where they could find anything they needed. Anyone know of a cleaning service in Wilmette IL who will actually do their job?

Two years later - and we used Wilmette Maids again for a move-out clean (for the same house they did a move-in clean for). I can't speak to what they're like as regular, ongoing cleaners for homes, but I think for move-out/move-in cleans, they do a really good job. I was happy with the work done by two women. They were incredibly prompt.
Everything looked great when I got back to the house - but they had forgotten the bottom drawer of the oven. I called, and they came back the same day, were very apologetic, and took care of it in 10 minutes. I will use them again when we move out of our current rental.

I am new to Wilmette and my regular housekeeper is on vacation for a month. I called WIlmette Maids and they were there in 20 minutes. 4 women came to my home and cleaned it top to bottom including changing all the linens. I found them to all work hard and I was pleased with the outcome. I am having them again next week!

We used this company for a few times did notice they don't do a through job. But that's not the worst part. Today one of the older lady was really rude when I asked her to clean the cabinet doors in the kitchen before they leave. She said we have no time for you. We have another job have to be there! I did a good job! Call the office if you are not happy! Well, I will never use them again, with such a bad attitude about not finishing the work!

Do not hire Wilmette Maids. We hired Wilmette Maids from January to June 2010. I only wish we would have fired them after the first clean. They broke a glass decorative piece we received as a wedding gift and through away items that were not garbage. They were very nice however, and we were very busy, so we gave them multiple chances. They show up with four maids and somehow do less cleaning than the two maids we used before we moved here.
They do merely a surface cleaning and try and make it look like they did a thorough job by using lots of cleaning chemicals. You walk in after they clean and think, "wow it smells clean." After they leave you notice that they merely vacuumed, dusted a bit, and washed off the counters. I have never written in on an online review site, but when they didn't even have the decency to call me back when I demanded they re-clean or give me my money back after the last time they cleaned, I felt I owed it to anyone who was looking to hire cleaners to post this review. Save your money and clean yourself (you'll do a much better job) or hire someone else.

I've met these people twice, when I dogsit for a friend. She pays about 100 a week (with tip) which seems like a decent price to split between about 5 women. They smile, but all chat in Polish so I have no idea what they're saying, as soon as they're not looking at you they go back to their :| faces unless they're laughing with one another. I'm not too impressed with them though.
Sure they do a nice job vacuuming and using those fuzzy duster things to swoosh things around with but they didn't even replace all of the picture frames the way they were, and in fact by the picture frames they didn't do a very good job dusting either. It was visible in either the light of the lamp or the natural light through the window. Also, while I was watching them dust the window shades they really didn't do a particularly thorough job.
They hardly do anything in one room, I guess for the most part they're okay vacuumers. They don't do any toilet cleaning or floor washing in the kitchen, and what really got on my nerves is that they took out the kitchen garbage and then left it on the back porch next to the recycling (which they didn't take out) and apparently I?!?! am supposed to take care of that?
The garbage cans are about 200 feet through a well groomed backyard with a path. I don't know if they did that just because they don't care or because the woman they work for wasn't home. It just pisses me off, because that's in my opinion what they're being paid for. Then, they took their check and tip and left without saying a word.
Not "We're leaving you should lock the door behind you" or "WE'RE LEAVING YOU CAN COME BACK IN THE HOUSE WITH THE DOG NOW" (I was sitting on the back porch petting the dog so he stayed out of the way, which they knew and said thank you to me for). I thought that was rude and screwed up because what if someone came in the house when I was in the back?
I didn't hear vacuuming anymore for a while so I came back in, saw they had gone and taken their check and it was just like "wtf"? to me. I know a younger woman who BY HERSELF cleans a 2 floor house with a giant basement (furnished) every week. It takes her 3 hours and she cleans the hell out of that house. It makes me think that individuals you get recommendations from by word of mouth are better workers than these cleaning services.
It took them about an hour to clean up. They didn't touch the basement that I know of. It's a furnished basement you know. They seem.decent, but in my opinion they need to "clean up their act."
