Hew's Carpet Care

I have used Hews twice, the first time to stretch a piece of carpet and having seen the outstanding job they did, I then called them back to clean 3 rooms and 2 sets of steps and stretch another piece of carpet. They did an OUTSTANDING JOB. The technician was on time, kept me informed of arrival, worked in my home in a very professional and I observed firsthand the effort put into thoroughly cleaning my carpets.

The carpets look wonderful, like new. I appreciated what I observed in terms of doing a good job. I have used many carpet cleaning companies over the 18 years that I have been in this home but Hews is now at the top of my list of who to call for cleaning and stretching carpet. I was very pleased.

Hugh restretched and area of carpet that had a wrinkle in it. He was professional, did an amazing job and was very reasonable. I will definitely use them again and will recommend them to anyone needing carpet repair or cleaning.

Hew's Carpet did a magnificent job on our carpet. We had use faulty spot remover that left the carpet even dirtier looking and could not get it cleaned. Through Hew's tenacity, and experience, the carpet was thoroughly cleaned. I highly recommend Hew's.

We used Hew's Carpet Care to have our couch/ottoman professionally cleaned with odor treatment. Hugh was responsive and came out in person to give an estimate same-day and then returned the next week to complete the cleaning. He was prompt, kind and professional. Hired Hew's Carpet Care for air duct cleaning and carpet cleaning. My previous air duct cleaner just pumped out dirty air from the vents. Hew took extra steps to clean out all the dirt, dust, and mold from every air duct outlet and their cover panel. Also, I was about to replace the old carpets, but the carpet steaming and cleaning was done so well that I can keep my carpets for a few more years.

We hired Hugh to clean and repair our carpet prior to putting our condo on the market. He did a fantastic job. I would recommend him to anyone looking for carpet cleaning or repair. I plan on using him again in our next home.

We're glad we contacted this company for cleaning wall-to-wall carpets in our Woodbridge home. It took the technician most of a day to clean the carpeting in our ten rooms, yet the cost was only $733. That was less than most other estimates. The technician was competent and courteous. When he departed, he left four industrial fans to speed the drying process. He came back for the fans the next day. The carpeting now looks great.

Hugh responded by phone and text very quickly. He was re-stretching carpet in the bedrooms, which was quite a bit more difficult than I'd thought it would be, with quite a bit of debris after from trimming. He vacuumed and everything looked great when he was done. Well worth the cost to avoid early wear on buckled carpeting.

I contacted Hew's Carpet Care to have my carpet stretched and cleaned. Mr. Hugh did a wonderful job and has my carpet looking new. I would definitely recommend him!

We called Hew's to have our carpets cleaned and they came out and gave us a thorough and quite reasonable estimate. I had to postpone twice for various reasons, and they rescheduled without an issue. Hugh came out and spent 5 hours cleaning our carpets and moving lots of furniture by himself. The carpets now look beautiful - what a fantastic job! I highly recommend this company, and Hugh in particular.

Hew was incredible to work with! He did fantastic work, gave us great service and agreed to come back if we EVER had any issues with our carpet stretching. It was such an enjoyable experience and would absolutely hire him to take care of our future carpet needs.

Oh my gosh, I couldn't be happier with the service and expediency of my carpet cleaning with Hew's. I soon knew that I had been very lucky to hire Hew's for the job. Old fashioned top quality service delivered with a smile! Despite the rainy weather, Hew made the estimate on a Sunday, soon after my call. My basement and stairs carpet hadn't been cleaned in years. It now looks like a new carpet.

Hightly recommend this company. Our family room carpet looked awful! Dirt, wine and a few pet stains. Hew came out and got all the stains out. The carpet looks 200 times better than before! Will definitely call them again when we need help with our carpets.

We used Hews to have our carpet stretched; our basement carpet was installed about 4 year ago and there were many spots that sagged and buckled. Hew informed us that the carpet was installed too loosely. He spent approximately 3 hours in our home, and now it looks great! He said he guarantees his work, so if it sags we'll just give him a call. I highly recommend this company. The owner is professional and very friendly. We're pleased and will be using this service again for cleaning.

Carpet section was professionally cleaned a few days ago. 'Hugh', yes, that was his name, insisted carpet was not cleaned and wanted to clean the entire apartment rug! He quoted a partial price, then evaded questions about costs. He is a slick operator who pretends to listen, ignores you, and tries to get paid for what you do NOT want. Stay away.

We have used Hew's for the past few years - he is incredible at cleaning the impossible stain. My husband spilled red wine in a white woven footstool which Mr Hew worked on first successfully removing all stain! Will always call him for rug cleaning and upholstery cleaning!

I used "Hews" on 10/25/2016 to clean my carpet, stretch carpet and clean a couch. They we're GREAT! The price was fair, the work was excellent and they showed up on time.

I had a great experience with these folks. I had a 79.99 coupon and already pretty much knew how much room that would cover. He came in and did exactly what he said he was going to do in the ad including taking out some tough stains at no additional cost. He didn't try to up sell me or increase the area he was working on for more money. I didn't get a fuel charge (like one person below said.so maybe they were really far away). Very nice fella and very professional. No problems at all.

Our building had been using them to clean our dryer vents for years. Most of the time it was fine, but not this year. The day Hew's cleaned our dryer vent, our (nearly brand new) dryer stopped working. We asked (non-Hew's) dryer repairmen, twice, to come out and look at it. The dryer repairmen didn't find anything wrong with the dryer, but suggested that a blocked or dirty vent could be the problem. Luckily, our management company hired another dryer vent cleaning company, who got out a bunch of lint and debris. Hew's had not done a thorough job, apparently. Now our dryer works fine. And I would NOT recommend Hew's to anyone again.

Disclaimer: we didn't actually get carpet cleaning from Hew's but we had a less-than excellent experience with them leading up to our scheduled appointment. Hew's Carpet Care is one of THE highest rated carpet care companies on Angie's List, to which we subscribe and choose many contractors. Guess we should have checked Yelp first! Hew's owner, named Hugh (yes, yes.) is nice-ish on the phone but a tad unprofessional.

My husband and I got the feeling that he not only runs the business, takes the calls, makes the schedule, but also does all the work himself. We were interested in the Angie's List deal but he said it would be better to just pay the same price but in cash - not sure what the point of having an online deal is. The real kicker is that the website pricing says the same - WITH or WITHOUT furniture, which was a deciding factor to go with this company as we weren't going to be able to move furniture around, except for the bed.

When Hugh came to clean the carpet today, he called my husband and I - both at work and unable to answer phone calls - to tell us that he had to leave because there was "too much stuff on the ground" and that the carpet had too much dust on it (our tenant had just vacuumed it a couple of days prior to this - no way it could be "too dusty"). I think Hew's needs to clarify what "cleaning with furniture" actually entails, because this is a bit misleading. Hopefully we find a new company that is clear and consistent from the get-go.

We have used them four times for carpet cleaning since 2006, and to repair damage and stains (candles, wine). In every instance they are punctual, polite, efficient, and very fairly priced. Hew himself is the best, a gentleman and knowledgable, and he hires good workers. He offers advice on carpet care, and has done extras without extra charge. We live in the District; have a new condo and an old row house; have yet to try them for air duct cleaning, but certainly will in 2012.

I had an appointment with them at 5:30 AM on 7/22 for them to do some work at a rental property. Hugh called me at 4:45 to tell me he was there and no one was there to let him in and hung up. I called him back to let him know I was getting on the highway and would be there in 10 minutes and he told me he was "gone", that he had other appointments and could not wait for me to get there, "not ten minutes, I'm gone man" were the words he used.

I found someone else to do the work. He was extremely unprofessional. His coupons make his work cheap but in the end you get what you pay for along with an attitude because you are not paying him enough. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy.

The website says 20%off three services M-F, When I called to get three services done, Couch and Love Seat $79.99, Chair $40.00. and Mattress $79.99 each charged as a separate service the man said I was getting one service and would not give me the discount. When I said that was not stated on the website, he got mad and rude. He than hung up on me, saying he did want me as a customer.

After seeing the other rating and with my experience, I would NEVER use this company. Also, both address are the same RUDE people. Don't be fooled. They deserve no stars.

They provided super low quote then upon arrival explained that deep cleaning was about 3x more expensive. They charge to move furniture. They cleaned the carpet well.

I have to start off by saying WOW! I have Hews Carpet Care clean my carpet on a regular basis and I don't have any stories like the ones I have read. First the receptionist is always friendly and answers ANY questions that I have. If I don't completely understand the pricing she always breaks it down to me so I can understand it better. The deals are great.

I always have my carpet cleaned the day after I call to schedule an appointment. I once called and had my furniture cleaned the same day. Once the technicians arrive at my house they go on a walkthrough with me. I point out things I really want extra attention on and they quickly jump on the job. Most of the carpet cleaners bring things to my attention that I didn't notice.

Once the walkthrough is done the guys tell me what they can do for me. They're advice has always been great. The carpet cleaning is excellent. No spot is missed and everything looks wonderful when the job is complete. I have recommended this company to many of my friends and family and everyone has had the same experience as me. Keep up the good work Hews!

I was looking for someone to come out and clean my carpets quickly and cheaply. Hew's with their $79.99 coupon and ability to schedule a next day appointment beat out everyone else I called. A word of warning though, there was a "surprise" $15 fuel surcharge that they failed to disclose when quoting me the price. It took about 45 minutes to an hour to do a single/ground level, vacant two room apartment, but the carpets looked brand new when they left. The guy who did the work was pleasant and courteous, but did try to upsell services once he got there. All in all, not a bad experience and I saved a bit of money.

I had Hew's pick up 2 Oriental rugs for cleaning, which they did in the time frame they said they would. After waiting 3 weeks, I called to check on the status of the rugs. They told me there were still working on the stains. I said the stains won't come out, please clean and return. I had the rugs for over a week when I finally rolled them out to place in the rooms.

The rugs had not been cleaned, and still had pet urine smell. I called, and they picked them up right away. 2 weeks later, I called about my rugs. I got the same line about the stains. I asked if they were a legitimate business, and they said they were. Well, when the rugs were dropped off, we unrolled them, and there was no pet urine smell, and they appeared cleaner.

I had the rugs unrolled for a few days before I put them in the rooms they belonged, so I vacuumed them. The vacuum took out 2 bins of powder from the rugs. Now, the rugs smell like "burnt plastic", and I think the urine smells are re-emerging. I spent over $400 and 6 weeks, and my rugs are still not clean. I am afraid if I call them again, I will never see my rugs again. I do not recommend thier service at all.
