Sweepnman Chimney Sweeps is in the business of keeping homes and families safe. We strongly believe that if people learn the facts about their chimneys, a lot of tragedies will be prevented. Each year in the United States, carbon monoxide poisoning claims more than 400 lives and sends more than 15,000 people to the hospital.
Enjoying your chimney and fireplace should be easy, stress-free, and hazard-free, and we want to make sure of it. That's why we offer total chimney and fireplace care throughout North Shore and the surrounding communities. From top to bottom, inside and out, we'll work hard to keep your chimney and fireplace looking beautiful and working the way you want and need it to, year in and year out.
If you're lucky enough to have a fireplace in your home, you know the enjoyment and heat it brings is tough to beat. That's why, when the temperatures drop, you can't wait to light that first fire of the season. Here at Sweepnman, we get it - we love our fireplaces too! But we want to make sure that, when you're ready to enjoy your fireplace, it's ready to be enjoyed, which is why we strive to deliver the most comprehensive and effective chimney and fireplace sweepings possible.
You remember to take care of the chimney attached to your fireplace every year, but are you keeping your oil or gas furnace flue swept as well? Oil and gas each create their fair share of corrosive byproducts that can build up and damage or decrease the size of the flue, increasing fire and carbon monoxide hazards and reducing appliance performance.

While I was initially taken back by the fact they asked for payment just to bid my job, I moved forward because a friend told me he used Sweepnman and they were very good. Unlike the other 7 companies I contacted, Sweepnman came to review the project when scheduled, provided an estimate within a day, scheduled the work quickly and were very professional. After have many issues with work done recently, this was very refreshing.

I get images, explanation of what was done etc. Don't hesitate to call them if you need the service. You wont be disappointed. Service: Chimney repair & restoration

We have used Sweepnman on a couple occasions. Once for cleaning, cap installation and water damage repair. We also had them remove an old, out-dated flue and install a new one. Sweepnman was always on time, easy to book, responsive to requests and professional on-site. They provided an overview of tasks they'd perform before starting work and once completed, walked us through the work done.
They never rushed through their work nor tried to rush out the door, making sure all our questions were answered. I highly recommend them. In addition, their quotes were always competitive and never inflated. Great price, great service! We'll continue to use them.

First time using on a referral from my neighbor. I found all of the staff that I spoke with to be friendly and personable right from my first phone call. I found this to be an extremely professionally run business in every way. Everything was clearly explained and documented by a report with photos as well as a proposal of necessary work to be done - all sent to my email within a few hours. High 5 Sweepnman! You guys were great!

Very courteous, professional service - from the initial phone call to the office, to the finished installation; thorough proposal of work that needed to be done, with photos displaying the issues, to a report of the completed work, also with photos. Workers reported as scheduled, took care of business promptly. Very satisfied with their customer service and the work that was done.

I have had them clean the flues for the fireplace/furnace and install a fluepipe for the furnace (not installed in house built in 1995) with rain cap. They did a clean and professional job and would happily use them again for my chimney needs. Services: Chimney flue cleaning, Chimney repair & restoration, Rain cap installation

Two stars for the friendly staff, loss of stars for trying to scare us into work we did not need at a cost of $14,299! ($4500 for flue work and and $9799 for rebuliding and pointing my chiminey, and a custom cap) I called for an initial chimney sweep (that was all I wanted) and before their tech Lisette even looked at our chimney, the first words out of her mouth were "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I usually am. " And that's how it began.
It left a sour taste in my mouth as I feel as though that is not how you should introduce yourself or your business to someone. The two techs who were in my home Lisette and her helper were friendly and kind. They also did keep my home clean when they swept my chimney, and got me a quote for work to be done right away. (Total cost $369.00) As a homeowner, I felt as though I needed to do my due diligence and get other quotes.
The second company to come out said everything was fine, and I just needed a sweep. (Total cost $85.00 for inspection) The third company said that my oil flue was cracking, but it was not an emergency and I would have to deal with it in a couple years. He also inspected and swept my chimney again, and showed me all the soot that came out, and he himself was quite sooty.
I was surprised there was so much soot as Sweeperman told us not to burn fires because it was unsafe, and we had not done so. The third company also told me my fireplace was perfectly safe and to call him back out again when the cord of wood he saw in my back yard was burned through. (Total cost $250.00). I work in the service industry as well, and we do not belive in upselling ot scare tactics for our customers, especially upon introducing ourselves. So, although the customer service aspect of this company is fine, their deceitful sales tactics are not.
I will not be using Sweeperman again. Update: Manager Roger called back and apologized. He also was kind, and offered to refund the service. I declined. The call was nice, but my review still remains the same.

Always happy with these folks - but I'm here to share some extra advice: if you are installing a wood stove or similar don't accept the retailer's "installation service" by some random 3rd party. Learn from my mistakes, take a credit from those retailers and use it to hire Sweepnman to install your stove and chimney. You'll never hear from the wood stove retailer again for the rest of the stove's life, but you'll see your chimney sweep regularly and THESE are the folks who have reason to do a great job and to stand behind their work.

Sweepnman earned my trust. The chimney sweeps who came to my house we're professional, personable, and careful. They carefully cleaned and inspected the flue and smoke chamber. They left no mess behind. And best of all, they found no issues. There were no surprise repairs or fees. They've earned my trust and my future business.

We had an excellent experience w/ Sweepman Inc. Our home was serviced by Troy and an associate. Their professionalism began with an on-time arrival, a walk-through of the home, and a chance for me to ask a number of questions. My family and I had recently purchased the home and there were a number of details in/around the fireplace we didn't understand. Troy patiently and knowledgably answered every question.
The cleaning was done efficiently and cleanly followed by a thorough explanation, recommendations for items that clearly needed repair, followed by an emailed report complete with photos. I am very satisfied with Sweepman and Troy and look forward to having them service my fireplace/chimney in the future

Friendly staff, but like many other's, incredibly high quote and you have to get your chimney cleaned/inspected to even get a quote that other companies will do for free. We knew what needed to be done from our home inspection so seemed weird to have to pay for another quote, but we wanted quality work and decided to move forward. Ended up getting an initial $10K quote.
We also received 3 other free quotes for the same work in the low $3K-$5K range. Like others have stated, we were given a custom chimney cap quote that was $3K. After reading other reviews, called back and asked for a non-custom fabricated and the price was $1.5K. Other quotes we got for a full custom cap were $1.5K so even their non-custom caps were high.
But what I really didn't love was when the cleaner/inspector was at our house initially, he offered to seal our flashing that day, which was great, but we couldn't move forward since it was starting to rain. Then after we got our $10K quote, I called back and asked if we could schedule just the flashing repair and was told they would only move forward if we agreed to everything and wouldn't do just the flashing repair. Called back and told them how he offered day of to just do the flashing and was told they would call me back again. Been two weeks and I've been ghosted.
As an update: I was contacted by the manager subsequent to my Yelp review and he was very apologetic. He took the time to listen to what I had to say and apologized for any inconvenience. He also offered to refund me for my initial sweep/inspection service which was quiet nice. I appreciated that.

These guys are awesome. We had a problem with our draft and upon further inspection it was found to be a faulty cap that a previous work crew had installed. These guys were quick to respond, and to come out to fully replace it. They were quick, courteous, and the work looks amazing. We will definitely be using them again for all of our chimney needs. Can't recommend them enough.

This company was hired to do a chimney inspection on a property I was selling. The estimate given to the potential buyers for repairs were between $15k-$22k! I immediately had 3 inspections performed by other licensed chimney professionals. Prices quoted: $4500 $3600 $2800 What do these guys wanted to do is get a piece of the sale! Their only concern was a big payday.
The chimney admittedly needed work, but it did not need to be reinvented at all. Shameful business tactics. They purposely put false fear in a naive young buyer, costing us the sale. Realtors beware when recommending this company

More than impressed! I was nervous about my scheduled job as my house had an original chimney from 1959. I knew once everything got opened up, as with any older home, more would be discovered. Matt and Scott explained the situation and how they would proceed. They both kept me updated throughout the day as to what they were doing and why it had to be done.
They also took the time to answer my 1001 questions. It ended up being a much much bigger job than expected, however, Sweepnman stayed true to their quoted price and didn't charge for the extra. Bonus points they were super nice to my dog!

Note that this review is for their estimating, not their actual work: I had them come out and quote me for installation of a chimney cap. They gave me a steep price, said they'd have to order a custom cap, and then come back for installation as my chimney was a unique size and it was not a simple job to add a cap. I asked about another broken feature of the fireplace and they said they'd look into it when they did the cap installation.
I called up another service for an estimate, they gave me a MUCH lower estimate, used a generic cap from their truck (cap had lifetime warranty), and fixed my other fireplace item for free, all on the same visit as the estimate! Avoid Sweepnman!

SAVE YOUR MONEY! Called these guys based on the reviews and the proximity to my home. I should've done more homework. The staff was present to deal with. But thats all I can say this is positive. The pricing was very high to have the chimneys cleaned. On top of this, one of my chimneys needed a new liner. So rather than ask "do you want to save the price of the cleaning and put it towards a new liner?" They went and cleaned a chimney that I would end up putting an insert in.
They said they would get a quote over to me, but never sent one, but the rough number they gave was DOUBLE of the 4 other quotes I got. Three of the guys that came out to give me this quote pointed out that Sweepnman never went on the roof to clean the chimney caps. Both caps were covered in soot. I wound up getting a steel brush and cleaning them myself. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and find someone else to clean your chimney.

Called to set up a time for an appt to inspect my liner and was repeatedly told that I need to have the chimney swept in order for the inspection to happen. Even when I told her that the chimney didn't need to be swept, she said it was the only way they could inspect it. I further pressed to only have the inspection and was told that it wouldn't be an option. Missed opportunity on the part of the business and they shouldn't push services on people when they don't need them.

Had an incredibly frustrating experience with Sweepnman. While the actual chimney cleaning was fine, we had a town inspector show up to our home a couple of weeks later saying that the company had reported a code violation in our system. Not only was this never mentioned to us at all by the service provider before an official report was filed, the violation in question was totally false as it only applied to natural gas furnaces, not oil burning like ours.
I had an explicit discussion with the technician about our oil burning system as well as his own visual inspection of our heating system. The inspector seemed put out by this mix up and was surprised to find that we were totally unaware that they had been contacted. Still baffled by this whole episode.

Outstanding job by Sweepnman. We are first time home owners, and we wanted to make sure the chimney was in good shape for winter. We knew that we needed the crown repaired and some repointing, as well as a cap and waterproofing. We have a 1955 cape. What we didn't know is that the clay liner in our oil flue was degrading and that we had holes in the mortar. Stan did our inspection and he showed me every single hole on video as he was inspecting.
This was very important for me personally to see the damage, because it really proved to me that we needed a new liner. Everyone knows liners aren't cheap. After talking with him, he gave us several reasonable options for how to fix the chimney to make it safe again. He was knowledgeable and I could really tell that he truly cares about his work.
We felt confident in investing in a new liner. My father has installed them before and agreed that we needed one after I described what I saw on video. We decided to have a new stainless steel liner put in as well as complete all the repairs and cap, etc. We couldn't be happier with the results. Stan made sure everything was done right and even came back the next day to check on things because it had rained. We'll definitely be back for any future chimney needs.

Great service from Sweepnman, we had used two different chimney cleaners the last 2 years, because they were on the cheap side. I've decided that there are things worth spending more on, such as a well swept chimney that prevents fire and loss of house and life and limb. (Things not worth it in case you were wondering: burgers over 11 dollars, beer more than 6 dollars, tacos not from taco bell, you get the gist) Anyway we we were not happy with the people who swept our chimney the last few years so we decided to go with Sweepnman because of their 5 star reviews, even though it was a little more money by about 50 dollars for a sweep.
Well worth it! Eric (I'm pretty sure) and Tim came out today between the window of 11-1 they showed up at 11:20, were polite, thorough, clean, and nice people. They did a thorough job of cleaning, explained a few things to us and were comfortable people to have in your house. I will definitely go with sweepnman again for future cleanings, well worth the money and a great business

On the recommendations of my fellow Yelpers, I brought the Sweepnman out to our home to check out the 1950s chimney and fireplace. Of course, they found lotsa problems but besides that, these guys are totally professional, courteous and best of all they didn't leave a speck of dirt on my lemon yellow couch or the freshly swept hardwood floors.
We are hiring them for all repair work and all future maintenance for the fireplace and chimney repairs. Highly recommend these dudes to the max. Or I guess I shouldn't use California slang so let me try on the New England word "wicked." Nah, these guys are hella good. Call 'em.

After searching sort of blindly for a chimney sweep company for our free standing wood stove, I decided to go with Sweepnman after reading the past reviews and seeing their accreditations on their website. Just as the other yelpers say, they were on time (actually early), professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and clean. Brian even went as far to do a quick inspection of our furnace chimney while puttng a cap on our wood stove flue.
He noticed there was some decay and that the clay liner had begun to basically fall apart. He wrote up an estimate for us right there and then with a complete and thorough explanation for what was needed for the repair at no extra charge. I'm extremely thankful they did that otherwise we would have never known until it probably collapsed on itself.

Based on good Yelp ratings from previous customers, I chose Sweepnman to clean my chimney. Dave, the owner, answered the phone, and was extremely knowledgable, professional and friendly. He sent Brian out to service my chimney, and I couldn't be more pleased~! Brian took the time to thoughtfully answer all my questions, even explaining to me the technical side of how a chimney works.
He was also very caring and concerned about my safety due to a faulty furnace. Brian went above and beyond what most technicians would have done. I recommend this business with complete confidence~!
