Founded in 1972 by Jim and Marta Nixon, the first location of The Cleaners was in Greeley, Colorado. Jim and Marta were schoolteachers in Texas prior to entering the garment care business. They selected the Colorado location because of its growth potential and beautiful scenery. Through the years, the company grew to more than ten locations with over fifty employees.

Most dry cleaners today clean using petrochemical solvents. About 70% use perchloroethylene (perc), classified by the EPA as an air and water toxin and a likely human carcinogen. Dry cleaners follow strict regulations to reduce emissions and control its health and environmental risks, but there is no getting around the truth - perc poses a real danger to people and the planet.

Staff is outstanding. However, the turnaround for dry cleaning is unreliable and in general, rushes never come back at the advertised time. In particular, I send my work clothes in and they take over 4 days to come back. I discovered that the new ownership has decided to send off dry cleaning to Boulder which results in extended processing time. This doesn't work for me so I will be switching to another cleaning company that has better turnaround times.
It's too bad because I really liked the service, quality of cleaning and turnaround times before. Now that the times are longer and unreliable, I just can't count on it. If they decide to go back to local cleaning then I might consider coming back, but it's hard to stay as a customer, much less recommend anyone for similar needs.

They lost my comforter, that I prepaid to have cleaned. Who knows if I will ever get it back. The sad thing is, a week ago when I went to pick it up, they just said it wasn't done yet, now this week they don't know where it is. And all they can say is, I'm really sorry, I'll have the manager call you Monday. Maybe a manager should be working at one of the stores on Saturday.

I am new to Greeley so I went based on others reviews. I called in advance and asked questions. I was told bring it in by 1030 am and they would be done by 530. No call by 500. So waited till the am. Get here at 9 am and they can not find my husband's shirts. Finally do locate them and they are not done. No not sure I will be back

Sent my boyfriend to pick up my vintage jacket. He noticed right away (good guy) that it had not been cleaned at all. The lady said sorry I'll give you a discount. Thing is he already paid for it. When he went back to get it, the lady just said bye. No discount no credit. Not that we were looking for that, but first impression is a big thing. We will never go back. It was at the store in garden City on 7th St.

This place did a terrible job on an order that I was charged almost $100 for. The men's shirts look almost like they'd been washed and dried and hung on hangers without pressing. Limp and wrinkled. Every one of over a dozen nice shirts had to be re-starched and re-ironed at home. A new ladies shirt that cost over $100 was dry cleaned, and came back shrunk, wrinkled, and with puckers that appear to be from washing.
One of the items dry cleaned was a tunic sweater and was sent back on a hanger rather than folded, so there were big puckers on the shoulder seams caused by the hanger, and had to be wet and worked out by hand. I sent a nice, large all-cotton canvas tote bag for dry cleaning, and it came back looking dirty and stuffed in a paper bag, with a $12.00+ cleaning bill attached.
It looked better when I dropped it off. (See photo of tote as returned to me after spending $12.00+ on it.) Of 19 pieces sent, only ONE was done right- a winter sweater was properly cleaned and returned properly folded, not hung on a hanger. The desk help was sullen and rude, and treated us like they were doing us a big favor by taking our money and giving us back our items. If this is the 'Nu Way' way, I'd much prefer to have the 'Old Way' way back- where things are done right, and for a fair price. They have lost my business for good.

This dry cleaners does not deliver routinely. I have given them several opportunities since January and the management stated they didn't know why the pick-ups were not happening as well as drop-off's. It's interesting that service they charge for it doesn't to bother them to consistently fail to follow through. I would recommend not using this organization and finding a team of people in town that want your business and will do what they say. Not to mention you are a paying customer. Bad service should not make it in any economy.

Staying at the Clarion and working nights so needed a small load of Laundry done, 1 pair of jeans and about 4 collared shirts and 4 regular T-shirts. Filled out their laundry sheet and they were taken and brought back with a 75.00 total! Not only that, but the button up collared shirts that I specifically stated that needed starched, weren't. But the 4 basic t shirts were!
Then they starched the $*+# out of my jeans and put a crease down the middle like they were slacks or something! I've been all over the US, had laundry service at many hotels or even just dropped off, and never have I paid this price for such a small order, nor have I ever had it completely done wrong. Wash, dry, hang up! Starch collared shirts. Seriously not complicated!
