Molds are specialized, microscopic fungi that occur naturally wherever there is moisture. Outside our homes, mold breaks down wood, leaves, and other debris. Within a home, small amounts of mold are unsightly, discoloring and clinging to walls, carpet, flooring, and even improperly stored food. Larger amounts of mold begin to pose threats of permanent damage to home structures and respiratory distress for sensitive people. Completely removing mold from a home is impossible - but remediation, or containing and reversing its effects, is possible with professional help.
When water floods your home, finished hardwood floors can be affected. In most cases, within minutes or hours the flooring will show signs of stress. Stress usually manifests itself by "cupping" with the edges of the boards rising to create a "dished" appearance. This damage can be reversed, in most cases, by our skilled technicians applying high vacuum pressure over several days.
Water damage is not always visible to the eye. It can often be detected with infrared thermal imaging (IR) cameras and moisture meters. If your structure is determined to have excess moisture, proper drying can be done to prevent mold growth and wood rot. This company was hired to check for water leaks (as a possible cause of mold) in the bathroom. They checked and found no leaks which was fine, but it wasn't the end of it. They ended up breaking a couple of personal effects in the house and on top of that crossed a line by making comments about our lifestyle and living habits, and that we weren't being hygienic. Ironic considering that we need to keep the house extremely clean due to health issues. It is incredibly unprofessional behaviour and I would not recommend them to anyone.

We just moved to our dream lake house, and three months later our entire basement was full of water. We called Bales as they have an exceptional reputation, and are a local company. I am so grateful for their immediate sense of urgency, and the care they took to protect our personal items. I credit this amazing crew with the fact that all furniture was protected from water damage.
The Bales team arrived within hours of my initial call, they had all the new equipment used for drying walls, preventing mold, and controlling humidity. They went out of their way to inspect for any signs of failing wall board, and they came by on many different occasions to check levels of humidity and drying progress. We had major flooding from a faulty sprinkler head in our Supercuts salon in Bothell, WA. The team from Bales was terrific to work with - very friendly, professional, reliable and in constant communication over the entire cleanup and 5 day dry out period. They educated me, gave recommendations and didn't use high pressure sales tactics to win my business. I highly recommend these guys. We had a water pipe break in our garage and do ALL KINDS of crazy damage. The team was professional and courteous and worked closely with our insurance company to make sure everything was taken care of. They always showed up exactly when they said they would and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Highly recommend!
