The original Fischer Plumbing was founded in 1977 and enjoyed a solid local reputation for drain and sewer cleaning for years. Although I didn't have any experience in the industry (my background and education are in business), my equity partner Bruce Robertson did. A plumber by trade, he brought the hands-on experience that we needed to purchase and make a go of this already successful company. We pride ourselves in providing expert Services for over 40 years to the Seattle and Eastside communities.

Anyone looking to hire a plumber knows it can be a difficult process, filled with tough decisions. Is it better to find a local plumber or hire a better one further away? Is the premium plumber going to be better than a cheap one for a small job? There are all types of questions on a person's mind when they begin the search for a plumber.
Do you need a reliable and honest plumber in the greater Seattle area offering professional services at a fair price? Are you searching for an emergency plumber who offers 24-hour plumbing service? Fischer Plumbing has been serving Seattle and King County since 1977. We became one of the largest reasonably priced Seattle plumbing companies because we can provide quality service with competitive pricing.
The convenience of hot water at the turn of a tap is something most people take for granted. In our homes we expect hot water on demand in our kitchens, bathrooms and laundry areas. Because hot water is such a major part of our everyday life, we tend ignore the hot water heater that works 24/7 to keep up with our household needs.
Chemical Drain Cleaners are not nature-friendly and can be dangerous to use as well as being poisonous to your skin. They can leave your sink or shower drain clogged with harmful chemicals in the drain water. To substitute these harmful drain cleaners you can use baking soda and vinegar's natural drain cleaner recipe to unclog your clogged drains.

Called them to get a bid to line my side sewer. They told me they were going to charge me $100 for the proposal, plus the hourly rate for the plumber, and an additional charge for the camera scoping of the pipe. The total charge would have been about $400 for them to bid my $13,000 project. Bob Oates, Jafco, and others gave me an estimate at no charge, like a good company would. Fischer wanted me to pay their business development/marketing costs, and lost a potential long-term customer for good as a result.

Had a tech come out to investigate a slow drain. Got drain snake stuck which made my system unusable and left. They gave me a hefty quote to further investigate with no guarantees. I was told that I was lucky to not get charged the cost of the snake line that they broke. I ended up calling Fox Plumbing and they were real solution providers and my problem was fixed in half the cost of the investigation quote. I would suggest others do the same.

I scheduled fischer hvac to come out and move a gas line, a duct, and install a new duct. The technician showed up, spent about 2 hours walking around my kitchen, reading technical manuals but did absolutely nothing. Now my other contractors have to be delayed because of this one person. This is the last time ibuse fischer.

I had a water leak in my kitchen cabinet and called Fischer. They never showed up for the appointment the following week, and didn't bother to call. Said sorry, a bigger job had come in and things had gotten confusing. I hired someone else to remove the cabinet and replace it. When I needed someone to repair the drywall under the sink, I called them again.
They sent me an estimate, and said they would fit me in sometime in the following month. I took them at their word and waited. I called three times the next month and no one bothered to returned my calls. They are not reliable. This is not professional behavior. I would never call them again.

I wanted to replace my water heater before it broke. Miquel came out and replace my 12 year old water heater with a new one. Excellent job. Everything was done very professionally and efficiently. I will use them for other jobs from heating and other plumbing jobs. Their prices are great! Not cheap but not outrageous. Good people!

This company needs some schooling in customer service. They came out to my condo and couldn't fix the issue due to very limited space near the broken pipe. This drain pipe made my shower unusable. I wasn't there but they proceeded to gaze up at the pipe from the room below for what they say is two hours. Then I call to get a bid and schedule the job saying they can go through the tile floor of my bathroom.
That I'll get that repaired after they leave. Terry says he'll find a time to do the job and will call me. Never hear from him again (which is a reoccurring theme in these reviews). Still no use of the shower. Have to start over with another plumbing company. Flash forward and Fischer invoices for $500 when they delivered nothing. Do not get duped by this companies loose attention to billable time or two hour musing sessions.

John, the technician was right on time and explained everything clearly after using the scope to determine that the sewer line was collapsed just outside the house I bought. Then Don, who does the estimates, came out and explained the situation in detail, including the various treatment options that exist for repairing damaged common sewer lines. He was very clear and helpful. I would highly recommend Fischer Plumbing.

Fisher Plumbing came to look for a leak in my apartment. They didn't find anything - didn't even consider the leak might be coming from the fridge and still charged me $500. This was horrificly bad service. I tried calling 4 times to ask about the charge and they NEVER responded to my phone calls or emails. This is AWFUL customer service and I will never use them again.

We had a very nice tech come out this week and snaked our kitchen sink. The fix lasted less than 24 hours. When we called both the tech and the company we initially got no response on Friday and then when someone answered this morning (Saturday) we were told that there was no one to talk to until Monday. Meanwhile we can't use our kitchen and answering service didn't have information about company.

Responsive, thorough, and reasonable pricing - we had a drainage issue and fischer was able to come out same day. Kirsten was extremely helpful coordinating and the plumber they sent (Jon) was efficient and thorough. He walked us through what the issue was, how it happened, and how long it each step was going to take. For sure going to be our regular plumber. Thank you!

At best poor accounting. At worst fraudulent invoicing. I am still waiting to hear back from their management after having called 3 times for an explanation to my invoice. I had a plumber come out to replace the sacrificial anode rod on my water heater. He was punctual and on time (even early) which was surprising and very much appreciated. He explained to me that this is not something people normally do and went on his way.
The entire interaction took less than 5 minutes. Prior to scheduling the service, I was told that their rates were $100 for the first hour, then $50 for every 15 minutes after that. The invoice I've just received is for $181.67 I've called 3 times now to get an explanation. They've told me that the service person logged 20 minutes at my place. Fortunately I have security cameras that confirm this is not true. I am still waiting to hear back from their management after calling 3 times. I will update this review if anything is resolved.

I would like to share experience with Fisher plumber 1. They charged me 700 USD for 1 hour of replacing simple main valve in my town house (shared building with three other units). 2. Over the phone I was told charges will be 200 USD per hour. Little that I know what this will turn into. They stated it will not be more than 2h so I estimated max 400 USD 3. Valve was easily accessible.
We prepare everything so they can only work on valve, nothing to move etc. 4. After work was done we got invoice: - Service charge : 100 USD - 2 x hours labor 400 USD - Parts 144 USD (overpriced) - tax 66 USD total: 710 USD For 1h and 5 minutes of plumber labor. I would never work with them ever again. It was such an easy job. Not to mention they have not provided me with any paper work and information that they have insurance. I was lucky for in case something were wrong I would have ended up with huge problems. Please find receipts and pictures of what they have done attached

I manage a small apartment complex. I wanted to write an official grievance to Fischer but my corporate HQ said no. Instead I will write an anonymous-(ish) review. For the past two years I have been about 50/50 satisfied with Fischer. Most of the time the plumbers come in, do their work, then leave the tenants feeling satisfied and happy. In the past year, they have been unprofessional, rude, and incompetent.
A tech came for a job, attempted a fix, but the fix was subpar. I called and got the same plumber the next day. He made remarks regarding the tenant's "10 Mexican kids throwing toys and other crap down the toilet, which is why it's clogging." This was incredible, since I inspected his work on day 1, and the flushing power was a bit stronger but still weak - the flush was nowhere near normal.
I also found it unbelievable the same toilet was clogged two days in a row. On top of that, his snake scratched the bottom of the toilet's coating, revealing bare metal underneath. Last fall, a tech came and attempted work on a special tank I have that was leaking pressure. The tech failed to perform the repair properly, resulting in other minor problems.
On top of that, he cracked the lid. I called the company asking for a replacement. They wanted to CHARGE ME FOR A TOTAL TOILET REPLACEMENT because they couldn't find a new lid. I demanded restitution, at which point I was promised that a supervisor would return my call. 3 months later, still nothing. My corporate HQ requires I use Fischer, but I've complained enough they allow me to use other options. Fischer has recommended I replace entire hot water tanks when they have worked fine for years with minor repairs and heating element changes.
In other words, they recommend dishonest expensive work when cheaper options work fine. They get 2 stars because for minor work in the distant past they have been great, but I'm not sure why this company is falling down the toilet hole.so to speak.

* Overbilling: Taking sweet time while working at $200 an hour. Counted half an hour extra over 2 visits. * Handwritten bill with no time in/out mentioned and no parts mentioned anywhere. * Changing a seemingly 'old' cartridge took 2 visits. First visit just to open it and inspect the brand and put it back and second visit, after 2 months, to replace it with a new one and logged 45 minutes. Overall, the labor cost for this alone is ~300. * I think not mentioning what parts they replaced helps again the next time - even if they replaced it, not keeping a record of what the part was is easily a good chuck of labor charge the next time to open/inspect/replace in another visit. * Replaced the cartridge and lever is a good 5 degrees off center. Did not mention it until I stopped the service person at the door to ask; his response - "I tried it 5 times; you can try if you want".

We have a pretty dire problem, our 70 year old pipes are failing and my husband, who is extremely handy, dug up the yard looking for the pipe that connects to the city's sewer system. We can't find it. We've called a few plumbers, yesterday's plumbers, Steve's Plumbing, were extremely helpful but we wanted a 2nd quote. What we got with Fischer Plumbing was a "yeah, we can't help you, that will be $100".
We weren't informed that there would be a fee just to come out (Steve's was up front about this) and I have no problem with a fee if a. we know there is a fee ahead of time and b. if they actually spend more than 5 minutes looking and listening and then stating they can't help. Oh but his helpful advice, perhaps hire someone that's really good with a witching stick, was just the cherry on top of a crappy situation.

We had a plugged washing machine drain that resulted in water pouring through our downstairs neighbor's ceiling light fixture. Building manager recommended Fischer Plumbing. They were GREAT! Got here the next day, had to cut out some drywall to get to a pipe and replace it. The next day a guy from their restoration department came out and replaced the drywall.
Today he finished mudding, taping and painting it. The drywall job is great, you can't see any evidence of a problem. All through this, from the receptionist to the two technicians, everyone was polite and thoroughly professional. The two techs cleaned up their mess and the bathroom looks better than before.

The connector from the wall to the toilet was old and sprung a leak at my renters condo. I couldn't fix it myself because it was a condo and there is no water shutoff in the unit, so I called them and asked them to come out and turn off the water for the complex. (Meanwhile organizing with my condo board to notify all tenants that the water was going to be shut off) They showed up and then proceeded to tell my renter that they can't turn off the water for the complex. So, I had to drive out and when I got there they said they aren't "officially" supposed to do that but will do it anyways because they do it all the time. Ironically, they didn't know where the water shutoff was so I had to help them find it.
Meanwhile one of the guys gets in trouble because he parked his truck in a tenants space where the signs clearly say to not do that. 1.5 hours later they are finally done. Apparently, all the above was billable to me. $430 bill for a task that would have taken me 15 minutes if I could have shut off the water.

The guy that came out was friendly and professional. However, I can't believe what the final bill was! $604.00 for essentially 2 hours of drain cleaning and I guess a leak test. I was hoping he would look under the house to look for any leaks, but said that would be a different person. I don't think so - not at these prices. This is the price I pay for being lazy I guess.
I had a perfectly good snake sitting in my garage. That's $300.00 an hour! A good aircraft mechanic makes 1/3 or less of that. Update, final bill was actually 639. They added some cost in there somewhere after I agreed over the phone to the 604. I guess that is why they do things over the phone and not in writing.

One of the worst contractors I've dealt with in any context. And before I dive in, please note that I've left excellent reviews for two other plumbing companies. But my condo's property management insisted that I had to use Fischer because of the nature of the job. (Long story.) What you need to know: 1) Fischer not only did *not* complete the job at hand, they broke or completely destroyed parts of my bathroom. 2) My insurance company has had to intervene on my behalf. Fischer is currently in breach of contract. Fischer is arguing that it would take "too long" to both finish the job they were paid to do and to repair the damage they caused. Obviously, their argument is legally incorrect. 3) They destroyed a number of my blankets and towels without my permission. 4) They tracked filth all throughout my condo. 5) The plumbing division and the restoration division don't communicate effectively with each other and it compounds the length of time it takes all of them to complete even the simplest tasks. 6) When they first arrived, one of the plumbers was kind and polite.
His co-worker was openly hostile and yelled at me, "Why didn't you have your place inspected before you bought it?" I replied, "Of course I had it inspected. It *passed* inspection. Please stop yelling at me." 7) Under any circumstances, do not hire Fischer Plumbing.

I had a plumbing issue I couldn't resolve so I reached out to Fischer Plumbing. They sent Derek out. He was awesome! He was on time, professional and conscientious. He was super efficient and my total bill way less than I expected. Thanks Fischer for helping me start the week out on a positive note!

It's a long review so to sum up points: 1.) 3 plumbers, to do the job the first should have done 2.) company does not care and takes advantage of customers in an emergency Got my bill today from Fischer Plumbing and wow what a disappointment! I had 3 plumbers come out on three different days (one including a weekend Overtime rate) to fix the same problem!
Yes the problem the first plumber should have addressed To start the fix tech, Carl seemed the best (being used so lightly)! He should up on site to find a leak that was causing extreme mold damage. To be fair he had to determine if it was the upstairs bathroom, the wall downstairs leading to the bathroom or in the crawl space. He determined that it was a dryer vent that had been disconnected and was causing steam to come up the wall. WRONG. Anyways he left without being 100% sure Cue the next plumber Anthony who after Joe at Puroclean discovered a leak (hard to miss if you looked in crawl space) came back to address the issue.
He fixed the leak and went upstairs to turn on the water. Once he turned on the water a new portion of the pipe leaked, but did he go in the crawl space and check his work. NO! Cue the third and in my opinion worst plumber Steve. Steve is smart and checks his work but his attitude was soo horrible! I called the office Saturday as we could not continue to fix the house until the leak was addressed. Steve calls back and asked if it was actually an emergency (no crap buddy I am calling you about water gushing out of pipes). Steve shows up and grunts and complains the entire time he is here, I get bad days and all buddy (remember I am the one losing my walls to water).
As he finishes he tells my husband this is a temp job and will not last (great company huh). When my husband calls to see what a temp job means (I mean are they going to finish?) the office tells him no that was there fix. Imagine my disgust when the bill comes and I am being charged for all three for all three employees when the first could have done the job!
I am a firm believer in let he business try to fix there error before posting a review but this business obviously doesn't care for its customer and I will never be recommending them as a plumber! Way to take advantage of your customers!

As a business owners and owners of a commercial medical building, we have had the occasion to work with several different service companies. We have found Fischer Plumbing, Heating & Air to be consistently competent and honest. All the technicians have been very easy to work with. We could wish for "instant" service, but that's unrealistic. Instead they have been able to respond in a reasonable time frame. They are my "go to" solution for plumbing, heating and air.

Work was done quickly and everything looks good, but the initial estimate for work was significantly lower than the final bill. No explanation for this variation was offered by anyone. I would recommend being cautious and getting a second opinion when considering having work done by them, if it isn't an emergency. Be careful.

We are an engineering firm that needs to make recommendations to condominium and commercial clients about what contractors are best suited for certain jobs. For plumbing matters we have found Fischer Plumbing to be extremely professional; they are patient with our clients and highly educational to our clients on process and methods. They bring a lot of good ideas to the table and can handle the tricky stuff without a hitch. They reflect well on our company.
