Superior Chimney Sweep

We have had our chimney cleaned with them for years, always do a good job. This time they even called ahead to let me know they were running late, which no one does professionally these days.

This company did a terrible job cleaning my chimney. After they were allegedly done cleaning, I prepped the wood for my first fire. After opening the damper to the widest setting, I lit the fire. Everything was going fine for the first couple minutes, then my smoke detector started going off. Suddenly there was haze all around the room, and my house reeked of smoke.

After putting it out with a fire extinguisher, I had one of my good friends come over to check it out. He's used to cleaning his chimney every season, so he's a professional when it comes to chimney cleaning. In hindsight I wish I called him up first, because after he inspected it he found that there was a bunch of leaves still stuck up there causing the smoke to not rise up.

The worst part is these guys charged me $500 for that cleaning that they did a terrible job at. Thankfully I was able to get my $500 back, but I still had to pay nearly six grand in smoke damages. Not worth the trouble at all, I would never recommend these people to anybody.

Critical: Responsiveness I called 4 times and left 3 voicemails. I try to use a local business, but I guess they do not want new business?

From the moment he arrived, John stood out as very professional. He answered all of our questions, installed a screen to stop birds from getting trapped in our stove pipe, and checked our furnace flue to make sure it was clean. I scheduled them to come clean the chimney for our wood stove; which we now suspect had not been cleaned since its installation. Dan was prompt, arriving at 9 on the dot. He was courteous, friendly and patient with questions. He cleaned the wood stove, told us a few things to keep an eye on and explained his recommendations with a great deal of. patience and not a trace of condescension.

He then asked if I wanted him to take a look at the furnace chimney and he did. It too needed to be cleaned, so he stayed and did that as well. There was no mess at all, and the buckets of soot that he took out from both chimneys certainly made that a challenge. He left us with a comprehensive assessment of both flues and items that need attention.

I impressed when I called and got a real person, instead of having to leave a message. I was happily surprised they called the day before to remind me of the appointment. Overall the type of service you wish could get from every home improvement contractor, and contact information I will be saving for next time!

They came out today on very short notice, did a most thorough job, and appear to love what they do--what could be better?
