I contacted them to get mold testing done on a house I was purchasing. After multiple calls to the office to try to get details about their mold testing, I was transferred to another employee. I was told that the owner would have to do the mold inspection and testing and that it was an additional charge to test to determine the mold species. I agreed.
They came out and inspected and led me to believe they had sent the sample off. I waited the 3-5 days as suggested. The owner sent me an quote to clean up and said it was mold. I asked about the test. He said he had worked with mold long enough, that " if it walked like a duck and quacked like a duck, it's a duck", so he never tested it. I said I needed the test done. He said he'd send the sample in. A day later, his secretary said they'd need to come take another sample to send off.

You really don't know about a roof until years pass. In my case, it also took recent inspections, since--I admit--I know/knew very little about roofing. Barnhizer installed my current roof. It's been leaking. They did a number of fundamentally incorrect procedures. Foremostly, they used cut shingles instead of capping shingles for the ridges (which, among other factors, voids the warranty).
They cut a ridge vent, but then overlaid it with shingles, making it wholly ineffective. I could go on. several very basic things are clearly wrong with the installation, including the incorrect installation of flashing and skylights. These are mistakes that no reputable roofer should do. One of my three recent inspectors was visibly surprised when I told him this company is still in business. Hence, my decision to write up a review.
Perhaps things have changed and they know what they're doing (though cut shingles vs. caps are a cheesy way of saving money). Please do some research before contracting them, and please be more thorough and knowledgeable than I was. Beware.

We had a water leak in our house on Mother's Day. We called Mr. Barnhizer and he had his team out at the house clearing the water and setting up the dryer fans that same day. Despite the horrible experience caused by the flood, it was a great experience dealing with them and his crew. They did an outstanding job.

We had a water base heating system where a valve got stuck open and flooded our basement. I made a phone call and they were able to make it to my house that same day within a couple of hours. They were very thorough and were excellent to work with. They were able to answer all my questions of what to expect, how long the clean up would take, and the insurance process that would be done. Each day someone came out to check up the drying process and humidity level all across the basement. In the end, I couldn't be any happier.

Always have provided me with excellent customer service. Family owned business, which I like, because I can call the owner, his sons, if I ever need anything. You always hope you never have to call them late at night. 24/7 emergency service is important for insurance claims. They cleaned my carpets and siding and they look great!
