The Cleanist, as it is now known, was founded in 1925 by Amedeo Ceccarelli as a tailoring and haberdashery shop at 304 Court Street in North Plymouth. This was across the street from the current location. Several years later, as business grew, Amedeo's son Leo joined him in doing fine tailoring as well as running the haberdashery.
