Our customers are amazed to see how much brighter, softer and cleaner our washing process makes their rugs. Below are photos before and after our washing process. Notice how much more vibrant the reds, ivories and blues become. With the dirt, dust and sand removed, this work of woven art shines beautifully.
Our techniques preserve the original character of antique pieces by expertly reweaving damaged areas using high quality antique wool. Antique rug repair is truly one of our greatest passions and our goal is to restore your rugs so that it will last for generations to come. Like cars, carpets need regular maintenance due to wear and tear.
The first step in safely storing your rugs is to learn a little about moths. Moths are picky pests that eat animal fibers such as wool, silk, cashmere, angora or fur, or any other materials that contain keratin. If you have pests at home the best way to get rid of them is by disturbing them. What do we mean by that?
Rugs are more than just a size and a value. They tell a story. There is quite a bit of history in your rugs that is largely unknown outside of the antique oriental rug community. Rug appraisals are a great way to start learning more about them. Mohammad Rafatpanah is well respected among the antique oriental rug community for his passion, deep knowledge and appreciation for antique carpets from all areas of the world. The retail replacement value of an oriental carpet to be the total amount it would take to replace a carpet.

I bought a beautiful rug online on the website for my living room - didn't take much time looking, it was an immediate fit. They had so many options for both traditional and contemporary styles and I was pleased to see they had a modern style that was perfect for what I was looking for. I received the rug within the week and it arrived looking absolutely gorgeous - it fit my living room furniture and measurements perfectly!

I am so happy with the quality of the product and the customer service as well as ease of the purchase. Will definitely be purchasing from Koko again for some of my other rooms!

I have been using Koko Bodakian & Sons for about 30 years to clean and repair my rugs. They do top notch work and the staff is always a pleasure to work with. I've moved to three different towns but I still bring my rugs back to Winchester.

My mother dropped a rug off for cleaning in July and they lost her rug. 5 months later and noone has contacted her with an update and they are not doing anything to compensate her. Unbelievable.

What superb service.! Mr Mohammed arranged for my mother's rug to be picked up. They cleaned, repaired, wrapped and sent the rug to me in another state. The rug is perfect. I am thrilled.

A driver of this place was getting Burger King on the job and cursed out an innocent Burger King employee :. I'm a strong believer in karma

We had a poor experience with Koko Boodakian. We called to get a quote to cut and rebind one side of a rug. He quoted $10/ft or $120, and it would be done in a week. When we brought our rug in, he said it would actually be $15/ft or $180 now that he saw it. We were frustrated, but since I am 9 months pregnant and we were already there, we went ahead with it.

I called after 8 days and he said it wasn't ready and would be ready on Friday morning (2 days after promise). He also said "had to cut 2 sides of the rug because of the pattern". We did not agree to this, and only wanted one side cut since that side would be hidden under a couch. I called on Friday and it was still not ready, he said to come by at the end of the day.

When we arrived it was not ready, and he charged us $70 for the side we did not agree to cut. I asked if it would be an exact match, and he said it would be. We expressed our frustration that this wasn't what we agreed to, and he did not budge on the price. When we finally got the rug 3 days after the promise date it was absolutely not an exact match.

The binding was a different width and different color. Instead of being hidden behind a couch, it's very visible. Communication was very poor and it cost us way more than we expected days before the birth of our child. The cost went from $120 to $250, more than double what we expected. I would not recommend Koko Boodakian & Sons.

I cannot give enough stars to Koko Boodakian & Sons for the amazing service I received from beginning to end. I started my search for the perfect area rug in November 2019 for my livingroom. I was convinced I needed a 4 x 6 rug for only under my coffee table. Over the course of 4 months I brought home various oriental rugs to try under my coffee table.

This was on a 3 day trial for each rug. This amazing store allows you a trial period for free. I tried so many rugs 3 at a time and returned each rug saying no this does not blend or not the right size. Each time Sia and John allowed me to try more to sample in my home and I would send them pictures and they would give me their honest opinion. Finally on February 20 I purchased the perfect rug for my room.

My new rug is 5.6 x 8.1 it was a long journey to the right fit and KoKo Boodakian accommodated me along the way for 4 months. I finally realized the rug must fit under your sofa and loveseat not just a small rug under the coffee table. I went in to purchase the rug today Feb 20, 2020. In addition, I needed a pad so the rug will not slip. Sia came out to my home 3 hours later from the purchase and fitted the beautiful rug from India with a pad. Sia measured so the rug fit precisely under the coffee table, sofa and loveseat.

I am so pleased with my beautiful handcrafted oriental rug from India. I do not believe any other store would bend over backwards as KOKO Boodakian does for their customers satisfaction. Their service, knowledge, and experience and amazing selection of beautifully designed rugs from many many countries are simply one of a kind. The showroom is in array of color and rich beauty with so many rugs to choose from including selections of diferent sizes and the outstanding customer service makes KOKO Boodakian the very best in the business. Hats Off to Sia and his family the owners at KOKO Boodakian!

I brought my oriental rug to Koko Bodakian's in Winchester and they did a great job. I drove a half an hour out of my way because they are experts in rug cleaning. I wouldn't trust anybody else with my rugs.

My mother-in-law had sold her house and was moving to a smaller place so she couldn't keep her prized oriental rugs. She called Boodakian's to see if they were interested in purchasing her rugs which are in excellent condition. I took pictures of the rugs and sent them to Boodakian's. According to them the market for large used oriental rugs had collapsed as they are no longer "in fashion" and they offered $600 each for the two rugs. Boodakian's picked up the rugs and several days later called my mother-in-law claiming there were "moth holes" in one of the rugs (total BS) and said they could only pay her $400 apiece. To say the least this is an unethical business practice. I do not recommend doing business with this dealer.

I've been bringing my rugs here to be cleaned for many years and have been happy. I don't think it is family owned but they still do a very good job cleaning and repairing and they give a good break for "carry in" as well. I've used other firms and have not been nearly as happy. I would recommend them highly.

I have sent our family room rug to them twice in the past 12 years for needed cleaning and repairs. They brought the rug to us this morning in time for Thanksgiving and it looks great. They do great work. Very pleased.

They really do a great job. I have been bringing my rugs here for over 20 years. I think it's under new ownership the past few years but they still do a great job. Repairs too! They know what they are talking about. Good discount for carry-in also!

I had two antique (over 100 year old) Persian rugs cleaned, redyed in spots, and repaired sides and ends. Yes, it was expensive altho I saved a bit by delivering and picking up myself (the helper took them out and put them in the car.) But my heirloom rugs look wonderful now and fit for many more years of service. Raphael was also wonderful about giving me advice about other rug and carpet problems.

Good price. poor customer communication. We had a very inexpensive rug cleaned there and they were willing to hold it until we had the area painted. We were called by a very irritated person saying that we had to pay for the cleaning, even though they were still holding the rug. We were happy to do that, however, in our initial communication there wasn't any mention of paying prior to pick up. He acted like we were trying to be cheap. Not a good experience communication wise.

I have many oriental rugs. I have used other companies to clean my rugs in the past but since finding Koko Bodakian & Sons it is the only place I go for my rugs. Recently I had a stair runner cleaned and repaired, along with a prayer rug and another 4'x7' rug. They all came out like new. They also did an excellent job installing the stair runner in my son's house. I recommend them highly!

This Company is fabulous! I recently moved to the area from out of state. Before moving into the house we had Koko Boodakiane clean and repair 3 large antique rugs. It was a really wonderful experince. From pick up to final delivery, from cleaning to cutting and installing the pads these guys were total pros. A lot of larger businesses could learn something from Koko Boodakian.

In addition their amazingly skilled craftsmen and expert service they're very good to work with over the phone and provide some of the best Customer service I've ever experienced, ANYWHERE! It goes without saying. I highly suggest this company for anyone wanting work done on there rugs. As far as I'm concerned they're the only game in town.

I had Koko Boodakian clean my three oriental and one contemporary wool rugs. They did an absolutely fabulous job. The guys who came to take the rugs and bring them back were so professional and courteous. I couldn't believe how great my rugs looked. I had the Orientals for 20 years and this was the first time they were cleaned. The colors were so much more crisp and vibrant after the cleaning. I also had them clean my Mother's two Chinese wool rugs with the same results. I can't say enough good things about Koko Boodakian and highly recommend them.

My family has used Koko Boodakian for years with no issues. My father had a large (12x16) berber rug that he had cleaned by the Boodakians about 2 years ago. Within a year of the cleaning he moved overseas and the rug went into dry storage in my grandparents building. When I moved into a bigger apartment in LA, I decided to ship the rug out to California.

At my families suggestion, I called the Boodakians and asked them if they would wrap and ship it to me. I was very clear that they had cleaned the rug recently before it went into storage, and that I did not need it cleaned again. This was verbally confirmed with the younger Boodakian. He said they would call me after they picked up the rug and get a credit card number.

He estimated shipping would be ~$100 based on the size of the rug. They go pick the rug up from my grandparent's place. And then I don't hear from them. I called twice to check on in and both times spoke to the elder Boodakian. I said clearly, both times, that I didn't need the rug cleaned and he responded that whatever I'd discussed with the younger Boodakian was what would happen. Lo and behold.

I get a call saying I owe them $560! $110 for shipping and $450 for cleaning. The younger Boodakian insisted he wouldn't have agreed to ship the rug without cleaning it first despite the fact that they had cleaned the rug before it went into storage. No offer of discount, no admission even that they just made a mistake. If I had wanted the rug cleaned I'd be giving then 4+ stars. $450 seems reasonable for a huge rug and the pick up & shipping went smoothly.

Hard to judge the quality of the work since the rug was clean to start with. When it arrived it had a big brown spot on the back, but this is a 50 year old rug, so who knows where that came from.

I took several rugs to Boodakian for cleaning (1 Karastan, 2 handknotted Indian rugs and 4 small handknotted Persian rugs). They did a superb job. The place everyone recommends is Bon Ton in Watertown, which I initially used. I now will take all of my rugs to Boodakian's for cleaning. Their service is friendly and the quality of their work is second-to-none. Highest recommendation.

I used the same rug in my dorm room for two years. Needless to say it was pretty dirty and stained. Koko Boodakian & Sons took it and made it look and smell like new again.

Rugs weren't that clean at all. A lot of grit came out of the rug after I picked it up. Akward location to find! Definately will use someone else next time.
