American Stripping Company, a Manassas Virginia based company, has been in business for 37 years. We specialize in blast cleaning which include, Glass Bead Blasting, Media Blasting, Sand Blasting, Steel Grit Blasting and conventional Garnet Blasting. A carefully prepared surface can be coated to owner's specifications.
ASCo provides specialty surface preparation, media blast cleaning and application of high-performance coatings for the Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland regions. Our indoor facility provides year-round on time processing for painted or powder coated parts. We have shop capacity to handle large heavy parts and also process small prototype components with rapid turnaround times.
Technology and equipment has changed as well as the increased use of powder coated finishes on new retrofit projects. ASCO provides excellent quality and rapid completion for powder coated products. American Stripping Company has an experienced team of highly skilled technicians, this team understands the value of high quality and rapid production schedules.
We apply different coatings for a variety of surfaces or as required by project specification, coatings include: Zinc coatings, Epoxy coatings, Urethane coatings, Mastics coatings, PTFE coatings, HALAR coatings, Graphite coatings, Acrylic Phenolics coatings, 100% solids, Plural components, Alkyds and Polyurea.

I have a very old cast iron antique that is a family heirloom. It was in tough shape and needed stripped down and painted. After researching and reading a lot of reviews I went to ASCO. Turned out to be the perfect place. I brought in the item broken down to several pieces. They did superior work, handled the pieces with care, and although it was tricky to do without altering some of the pieces, they painted it perfectly.
I got a lot of good advise on how best to restore it as well, all for a quite reasonable price. From the minute I walked in the door with the pieces until I left with the finished product, it was clear I went to exactly the right place.

I had the valve cover from my vintage BMW powder coated by ASCo. James Sejd replied back promptly via email with process, details and very reasonable quote. I dropped it off, chose from color palate and they called me when it was ready for pick up and the valve cover came out flawless. This was the first time I had anything powder coated and I am super impressed. I plan to do some additional coating on my BMW. Highly recommend.

Truly a top of the line business. I bring parts from my computer cases to be coated here and they come out perfect every time. I live in Baltimore and work in Virginia, so if i need work done, i don't mind stopping by on my way home to drop parts off. All of the places I've gone to in Baltimore either have minimums or can't be bothered to work on small parts.
I've been turned away and even given weird looks. ASCo, on the other hand, is really on another level with regard to quality and customer service. Michelle is funny, pleasant, and very nice to work with. I plan on ordering uncoated cases for my next computers so i can have them coated here with a custom powder. It's ASCo for life pretty much.

Very responsive by email with quote after sending pictures. The job was essential media stripping a pedestal mailbox for DIY homeowner. Dropped disassembled mailbox off expecting 5 day turn around. James Sejd assessed a lower price on the spot and asked if we could wait an hour and he could do the job right then. I was absolutely sold on the great value and service offered all across his company. I cannot say enough on the great value, professionalism, responsiveness and great job. DO not hesitate to have work done here.

American Stripping Company in Manassas does quality work at reasonable prices. Their reception staff is very friendly and the manager was great to work with also. I had a work stand blasted and powder coated and it came out looking like new. I rarely write reviews but the service we received was the best I have had. We had a bed stripped and painted 9 years ago. It is still beautiful and is used by our granddaughter. We took another iron bed in for similar work. Called and gave them our name. When we arrived the lady we called had pulled our previous work order and actually had the paint chip out. What a FANTASTIC experience. Couldn't have been better!

Had a set of custom wheels on my Jeep that had seen better days. I've had them on the Jeep since 2009 and the satin black was looking more grey than black. Tried a few different places around the Lorton, Woodbridge, Alexandria, and DC area. I looked at their work when I got quotes in person. All of them were substandard or overpriced. One of the places I visited recommended American Stripping.
The quote I got from them wasn't the lowest of all the places I visited, but it was dang close. And the products they showed me were done professionally and looked great. Check them out if you're looking for someone to do some work. It's worth the drive out there.

I needed a rush powder coating job done and the ASCO team turned it around the same day keeping my job on schedule! Who else could do that? These guys are the best.

WOW! What a find! This company does finish work for the Smithsonian, the Calder mobile, the Air Force Memorial, etc. Yet, they treated our small project of stripping (blasting) our outdoor furniture with the same courtesy, professionalism and helpfulness as anything else they handle. The furniture was perfect, generously coated and a pleasure to look at. The cost was very reasonable considering the numerous processes involved in this kind of finishing. Our furniture will never need to be finished again!
